About this calculator.
starbucks.sucks is a parody website. It exists to invite the reader to confront a single, unflattering number: the cumulative amount of money they have, by their own estimate, handed to a global coffee retailer over the course of their adult life. The product is the gag, and the gag is the number.
This site is a work of satire and social commentary, protected speech under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, licensed by, or in any way connected to Starbucks Corporation. The word “Starbucks” is a registered trademark of Starbucks Corporation; it is used here strictly for the purposes of commentary, criticism, comparison, and parody, under the doctrine of nominative fair use.
No Starbucks-owned imagery is used on this site. No siren logo, no corporate green, no cup illustrations, no app screenshots. The visual identity is editorial and intentionally distinct.
All figures are illustrative estimates generated from user-provided inputs. Nothing on this page constitutes financial advice, investment guidance, tax counsel, or a reliable forecast of any individual's actual spending or returns. The “opportunity cost” figure assumes a 7% nominal annual return, compounded monthly, applied to evenly distributed contributions — an assumption useful for emotional impact and useless for retirement planning. Consult a licensed financial advisor before making any decisions about your coffee habit.
No personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted from this site. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Share URLs encode only the numbers you choose to publish.
